The risk of isolated severe weather is increasing along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf coast Friday afternoon and into the evening. The storm prediction center increased the risk from “marginal” to “slight” Friday morning. This upgrade means there is a greater confidence that storms that develop in the highlighted yellow area could produce brief, isolated tornadoes. Even if tornadoes do not develop, severe thunderstorms with brief wind gusts strong enough to knock down trees and powerlines are possible.
People in Texas and Louisiana cities in and near Houston, Lufkin, Beaumont and Lake Charles should be aware of changing conditions this afternoon and evening. Be sure to subscribe to WeatherCall to get address-specific warning notification: http://try.weathercall.net/signupnow.
